Whether it's the Sami Indigenous leaders protecting Scandinavia’s forests or Pacific Island nations uniting to sue fossil fuel giants, solidarity is the bedrock of climate justice. The path forward demands that we reject the fatalism of "realism." As Ruth Wilson Gilmore, the Black feminist geographer, writes, "Abolition is the practice of imagining the world without the parts that we all know have already failed." Solidarity is that imagination—rooted in the daily work of mutual aid, collective decision-making, and shared vulnerability.
