The Nalayira Divya Prabandham is a compilation of 4,000 verses written by 12 Alwars, who were mystics and devotees of Lord Vishnu. These saints traveled extensively throughout India, spreading the message of love and devotion to God. The verses are written in a poetic and symbolic style, using Tamil as the medium of expression. The text is divided into 108 sets of verses, each known as a "prabandham".
