The film centers around Dani (Florence Pugh), a graduate student who has recently suffered a family tragedy. Her boyfriend, Christian (Jack Reynor), and their friends, including Josh (William Jackson Harper), Mark (Will Poulter), and Pelle (Vilhelm Blomgren), decide to embark on a trip to Sweden to attend the midsummer festival in Pelle's hometown of Hårga.
