The movie takes place in the 1970s, during the Vietnam War. A team of scientists, led by Dr. Bill Randa (Steve Zahn), and a group of soldiers, led by Commander Greylock (Samuel L. Jackson), embark on an expedition to a remote island in the Pacific, known as Skull Island. The team is tasked with mapping the island and discovering its secrets. However, they soon realize that the island is home to a variety of deadly creatures, including the legendary giant ape, Kong.
