The film follows Tony Stark, a billionaire inventor and industrialist who creates a powered exoskeleton suit to escape captivity. Upon his return to the United States, Stark perfects the suit, which becomes the Iron Man armor. With his newfound identity, he must confront his business partner, Obadiah Stane (Jeff Bridges), who has ulterior motives.
