Today, the job was to take a legacy video package — footage sourced from the fringes of a documentary about a disappearing dialect — and prepare it for a modern platform. The original archivist had left it raw: multiple language tracks, mismatched timecodes, and a frayed subtitle file in English that drifted out of sync midway through the second act. The conversion pipeline, labeled in a dozen scripts, needed an intact, minimally invasive update: preserve intent, correct timing, avoid noise.
