The film takes place several years after the events of its predecessors, with a new protagonist emerging in the form of Princess Ahmanet, a descendant of Imhotep, the original mummy. Ahmanet, played by a talented actress, is on a quest to uncover the secrets of her ancestor's past and to claim her rightful place among the gods. Her journey leads her to modern-day London, where she inadvertently unleashes a powerful curse that brings her ancestor back to life.
